Tuesday We Performed Hang Cleans & Power Cleans…

For The Most Part, Everyone Looked Beautiful/Pretty From The Hang!!!

Nice Dip, Big Jump & Shrug, Then The High Pull, Then Fast Elbows & You Dropped Underneath That Barbell FAST!!! You Reached That Full Extension Before You Started To “Pull” On Your Barbell… And You Had To Do That 3 Times Without Dropping The Bar… That’s Impressive!!!

And Then Comes The MetCon…

For Some Of You… UGLY!!!

I Have 2 Theories To Blame On Why You Went From Beautiful/Pretty To Ugly Like That…

One Of Them: You Go Full Retard Once You Hear “3…2…1…GO!!!” Because You’re Trying To Have The Fastest Time On The Board & You Don’t Give A S–T About Your Form & Technique… I Have A Love/Hate Relationship With CrossFit… That’s One Of Them… I’ve Said It Before… Every Competition We Have Hosted Or Attended, I Get So Many Compliments On Our RCCF Competitor’s Form & Technique… Let’s Keep It That Way!!!

Second Theory: You Have No Body Awareness… For A Lot Of You, Even If You’re Not Trying To Get The Fastest Time On The Board, You Go Full Retard Once The Barbell Starts From The Ground… I Was One Of Them… Kinda Still Am… I Remember Back @ The Old RCCF Box, Coach Ivan Wouldn’t Let Me Doing Any Olympic Lifts From The Ground Because I Was Pulling Way To Early… Everything Was From The “True Hang”… Then From “Mid-Thigh”… Then From “Above The Knee”… Then From “Below The Knee”… And Finally From The Ground…

Patience!!!

Do I Still Need Some Fine Tuning??? Hell Yea!!! But I Learned/Practiced On My Flaws & Now, I’m Not Gonna Say It’s Picture Perfect, But I Know It Looks A Hell Of A Lot Better Than It Used To…

Whether You Are Theory 1, Theory 2, Or Both… Take Your Time In The Box… The Warm Ups That We Perform Before Every WOD Are For A Reason… We Are Teaching You How To Perform “X” Movement…  Whether It’s An Olympic Lift, A Power Lift, A Gymnastic Movement, Plyo Metric Movement, Rowing, Running, etc etc… We Go Through Our Warm Ups For A Reason!
