To My Knowledge… There Were 3 Classes This Past Week That Had To Perform The “P.O.D.” (Penalty Of the Day…) & About 4 That Had To Perform The POD Because Someone Just Was Retarded… It Happens…

I’m Pretty Sure That Most Of You Can’t Feel Your Thumbs Anymore…

But… I’m Actually Pretty Happy With How “Hook Grips & HandStand Push Ups” Week Went!!!

For Those Of You Who Were Unfamiliar With The Hook Grip… You Learned How To Use It & Most Importantly.. WHY We Use The Hook Grip During Olympic Lifts…

For Those Of You Who Have Always Just Been Too Stubborn Because “It Hurts”… Well… You Were Forced To Used It Or Else You & Your Class Had Some Kinda Penalty… Suck It Up!!!

So Hopefully Everybody Got Some What Comfortable With The Hook Grip…

2nd… The Athlete That Got Upside Down… Whether It Be With Your Arms Locked Out Or Just On Your Head… And Then Freaked Out & Had No Clue What To Do Next…

3rd… The Athlete Who Was Comfortable Being Upside Down… Got The “Kip” Down… But Didn’t Quite Have The Upper Body Strength To Finish With The Press Out…

4th… The Athlete Who Was Comfortable Being Upside Down… Got The “Kip” Down… Finished Strong With The Press Out For The 1st Few Reps… And Then… They Just Died… That’s When The Cussing & Punching Of Walls Begin…

5th… You Got It!!! Yea… You Might Miss A Few Reps… But For The Most Part… Your Reps Were Legit!!!

For Athlete 1… You Just Have To Conquer Your Fear… Bottom Line…

For Athlete 2… You Just Have To Not Spaz Out Once You’re Upside Down… Bottom Line…

For Athletes 3 & 4… You Need To Work On Your Upper Body Strength!!! A Lot Of You Had The “Kip”… You Were Going Up… But You Weren’t Strong Enough To Finish The Press Out… All The “MODs” That We Had Everyone Perform Were Designed To Help You Build On Your Shoulder/Tricep/OverAll Upper Body Strength… Did They Suck??? Yep!!! These “MODs” are Modifications… Not Penalties… Wall Walks… DumbBell Presses, DB Push Press, DB Push Jerks, Bear Crawls, HandStand Push Ups W/ Your Toes On A Box, Strict Push Ups, Etc, Etc… All Things That We Believe Can Help You With Your Upper Body Strength…

For Athlete 5… Just Dial In Your Form & Technique… Practice! Practice!! Practice!!!

Hell… This Week Was The 1st Time I’ve Performed Free Standing HandStand Push Ups!!! I’m Feeling Stoked!!!

Were All Of Them Perfect??? Nope!!!

But… With Time… With Practice… I Started To Feel More & More Comfortable…

And… By The End Of The Week… They Actually Looked Pretty Good…
