We Performed This WOD August 23rd, 2013…

“Back to Friday’s WOD…

So yeah… There’s no “nice” way of putting it… “Belly Gunner” was f–kin’ horrible!

It hurt… Hurt bad… In such a good way!

Myself and Lady Alex went down to CrossFit DownTown Riverside to perform this WOD with J.J. Friday morning. Great group of people all suffering together for a good purpose. Thanks to Nicole and her girls and Ivan and Sonia coming out to support us! (Where was the 9:30am Crew at RCCF???) Seeing everyone pushing themselves, as hard as they could, just makes you want to work even harder. Not to “beat them” or “get the fastest time” or get your name in a “certain color on the WhiteBoard”… It’s just that emotional and physical empowerment for YOU. I don’t care if I can beat you or not. But can I beat ME? Can I beat this WOD? When your “In The Middle”…

You know what I mean…

The Beginning- Yea, your nervous, you have butterflies in your stomach, you have to pee 100 times… But you’re “fresh”. You can fly through that 1st Run and rip (Well… Kinda…) through those 1st few Clean and Jerks and HandStand Push Ups… Then…

The Middle- It’s that long, slow, painful process before you get to…

The End- You can see the light… 3 Clean and Jerks, 3 HandStand Push Ups, 3 Deadlifts, 3 Box Jumps, 3 Front Squats, 3 Pull Ups, 5 Burpees and one annoying 800 Meter Run… You know you’re gonna finish… And something lights up inside of you…

But it’s The Middle… That’s where you really learn about yourself as an Athlete, Hell, just as a person in general. Are you the type to just give up because it hurts or it’s too hard? Or are you going to push through the hardships and finish the task at hand?

Look at the Scores… Everybody today pushed through The Suck and did amazing… Very proud of all our RCCF Athletes and everyone over at CFDTR! Great WOD JJ… Thanks for having us! I’ll go to War with you any day…”
